U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., has announced millions in Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) for Fiscal Year 2026 to bolster law enforcement and emergency services across West Virginia.
The allocations prioritize modernized infrastructure, including $4.6 million to relocate Clay County’s 911 center and $2.8 million for a new fire station in Ridgeley. Other major facility projects include a $2.4 million public safety building in Poca and $1.5 million each for new fire stations in Mullens and Pocahontas County.
“These investments reflect our continued commitment to equipping our community partners with the resources they need to protect and serve,” Senator Capito said.

The spending package also allocates $400,000 to the West Virginia State Police for digital forensic tools to combat child sexual abuse.
