West Virginia Senator Shelley Moore Capito spoke Thursday about the continuing efforts to obtain federal funding for those affected by flooding in Ohio County.
NEWS9 inquired about updates on FEMA funding and/or emergency declaration from President Donald Trump.
"We have been in constant contact with FEMA,” Capito said. “We call them daily to find out where our emergency declaration is. I'm sure we're hitting the thresholds. So, I am as frustrated as some other people are so we can get some more individual assistance out there. We're pressing as hard as we can. I don't have any more news, but I would imagine that declaration will be coming very, very soon.”
