Passport Assistance

Due to a surge in applications leading to longer processing times, passport applicants should apply for or renew U.S. passports well ahead of planned travel. For more information on obtaining or renewing your passport, please visit www.travel.state.gov.

If you are experiencing difficulty obtaining a passport or have questions about renewing your passport, please call my Charleston office at 304-347-5372.

Traveling Overseas

Before planning your overseas travel, please consult the State Department’s list of Travel Advisories for country-specific information about any potential threats to your safety while traveling.

In particular, I encourage you to follow the State Department’s guidance for countries with Level 4 (Do Not Travel) and Level 3 (Reconsider Travel) advisories.

No matter where you travel, I also encourage you to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), which is a free service allowing U.S. nationals to register their foreign travel with the State Department. Enrolling in this service can allow embassy or consulate staff to assist you or contact you in case there is an emergency or if there are updates on safety, security, or weather hazards while you are traveling.

Global Entry Pop-Up Event at West Virginia International Yeager Airport (CRW)

Global Entry, a trusted traveler program that allows expedited clearance into the U.S. during international travel will host a pop-up enrollment event at West Virginia International Yeager Airport (CRW) August 4-6, 2026. Interview appointments will be conducted at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility located at 280 Eagle Mountain Road Charleston, WV 25311. Contact information for the facility can be found here.

Global Entry is $120 per person and includes TSA Precheck. If you are interested in participating, please make sure to apply on the Global Entry website by following the steps below.

Step 1 – Apply for Global Entry

The first step to faster international travel is applying for the Global Entry program and getting conditionally approved.

Step 2 – Schedule your Global Entry Interview Appointment

Once you have been conditionally approved for the Global Entry program the next step is scheduling an in-person interview appointment during our pop-up event at West Virginia International Yeager Airport (CRW).

  • Change date to August 4 – August 6
  • Scroll down to ‘West Virginia’
  • Click Charleston (WV Int Yeager Airport)
  • Click ‘Choose This Location’. This will take you to a new page showing available interview appointment times.
