United States Senator Shelley Moore Capito stopped in Marion County today for a major announcement with the county’s Gamechangers program.

Capito announced the Gamechangers program will now be in every high school in the county with East Fairmont and Fairmont Senior High Schools both adopting the program.

The Gamechangers program was founded in 2018 to help empower young West Virginians to lead healthy, drug free lifestyles as they prepare to be the leaders of tomorrow.

Capito said the addition of the group throughout West Virginia has helped address serious health problems throughout the mountain state.

“It’s the openness of being able to address a serious health problem that we have and for me to put policies in place to help people like game changers, to help availability of naloxone, to help availability of prevention materials,” Capito said.

The program is currently planning to expand to other counties within the state.
