Two local community organizations will receive federal grants to help spread awareness about the dangers of substance use.

U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, secured Drug Free Community (DFC) grant funding on Monday from the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) for the Nicholas Intervention Coalition and the Raleigh County Prevention Coalition, Inc. These grants also aim to help prevent addiction among young people.

“I was proud to work with our local West Virginia and federal partners to secure critical funding that will combat the addiction crisis in our state and help save lives,” Capito said.
