Senator Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., applauded President Trump’s nomination for Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia Monday.

Frank W. Volk had been recommended by Sen. Capito to President Trump for the position, according to a news release from the Senator’s office.

“Frank has served West Virginia honorably as a bankruptcy judge and as a law clerk to several of our state’s most distinguished jurists,” said Capito. “He has demonstrated his commitment to treating litigants fairly and upholding the rule of law through his years of service to our federal courts. Frank’s temperament, extensive background, and legal expertise make him well suited for a promotion to the District Court bench. I am pleased that President Trump has accepted my recommendation to nominate Frank to continue his judicial service.”

If Volk is confirmed by the U.S. Senate, he will serve as a Judge on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, filling a vacancy created when Judge John T. Copenhaver, Jr., took senior status.
