U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito announced Congressionally Directed Spending allocations for the fiscal year 2026 to support law enforcement and public safety projects throughout West Virginia
Local allocation details listed below:
- $1,002,000 CDS allocation to Barbour County OEM to equip first responders in Barbour County with dual-band radios.
- $1,000,000 CDS allocation to the City of Fairmont to renovate and revitalize the existing Watson Fire Station to include a new apparatus bay, staff quarters, and office space.
- $643,000 CDS allocation to Fairmont State University to equip Fairmont State’s police department with the necessary resources to better detect, prevent, and address crime on and off campus.
- $525,000 CDS allocation to the City of Morgantown for a fleet of police cruisers, which will replace an aging fleet.
- $263,000 CDS allocation to the Harrison County Commission to increase transparency, accountability, and member safety.
- $214,000 CDS allocation to the City of Clarksburg to fund cancer screening and wellness programs for firefighters in the community.
