WHEELING, W.Va. — U.S. Senator Shelley Moore-Capito was back in the Northern Panhandle on Friday.
She spent some time touring Wheeling's WesBanco Arena and had the chance to meet some of the Nailers.
Capito played a big role in continued funding for the arena throughout the pandemic and says it's an important place to keep going.
“Can't wait until we can fill the arena, but right now they're able to get a lot of families and a lot of fans in so that's good. So we want to keep this arena as nice as it is right now for the future, when everything is back to normal," she said.
Capito also took part in Wheeling Hospital and WVU Medicine's kickoff ceremony.
