Senator Shelley Moore-Capito supports President Trump’s actions in Iran over the last few days and says she would not vote to limit his authority.
This comes as the Senate prepares to vote on a war powers resolution to block President Trump from taking further military action.
The resolution comes amid shifting messaging from the administration about the strikes and warnings of more American casualties.
Capito says the president should have as many options on the table as possible to eliminate the Iranian threat.
“I think the president needs to have as many options on the table as he as he can in this situation. You see other countries joining in sporadically to help eliminate the Iranian threat. And remember, the Iranian regime powers, the Houthis, Hamas, Hezbollah, all of the terrorist groups that have been wreaking havoc on the region for years.”

The resolution is sponsored by Democratic Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia and Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky.
The Senate voted down a similar effort in June of last year after the US bombed three nuclear program – related locations in Iran.
