Wheeling secures federal funds for local projects
Wheeling City Manager Robert Herron announced at Tuesday's city council meeting the allocation of new federal funding for several local projects following the approval of a budget appropriations bill in Washington, D.C.
The congressionally directed spending was supported by U.S. Sens. Shelley Moore Capito and Jim Justice, along with U.S. Rep. Riley Moore.
The Wheeling Park Commission is set to receive $5.6 million for historic building renovations. Additionally, $2 million is allocated for the Northern Parkway improvement project, and another $2 million will go toward the Gateway Center Trail Connector.
