MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. – Today, U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) announced that the Marshall County Airport Authority will receive $269,876 from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The funds will be used to improve airport drainage, install perimeter fencing and support additional construction projects.

“Keeping our airports updated is important for local businesses and for the convenience of travelers,” said Senator Capito. “As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I made sure this funding was prioritized so that West Virginia’s airports continue to operate safely and spur economic growth.”

“Investing in our airports is an important step to creating good jobs and building a solid foundation for our states economic future,” Senator Manchin said. “As a pilot myself, I’m glad to see this funding will go towards improving airport infrastructure.”
