WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) announced $1,231,457 in funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF) to support Head Start programs in Raleigh County.
“As a supporter of Head Start, I am glad this funding is coming to southern West Virginia,” Senator Capito said. “Early childhood education is important for emotional and cognitive development, and programs like this can help give West Virginia children a leg up.”
“Head Start allows the children of West Virginia access to early education that is vital to their development,” Senator Manchin said. “These funds will support the programs in Raleigh County, and I’m excited for the continued investment in the educational foundation of our children.”
