WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will award $65,400 to Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) Health System. The funds will be used to assist with nurse anesthetist training.

“Nurses play a vital role in the health care industry and the overall well-being of West Virginians throughout the state,” Senator Capito said. “This funding will support education and training for CAMC nurses so they can deliver important services that help keep West Virginians healthy.”

“CAMC delivers quality medical care to thousands of West Virginians each year. West Virginia faces a unique set of healthcare challenges and it is critically important that we continue to invest in additional training and education for our healthcare workers. I’m excited to see this investment in the nursing team at CAMC,” Senator Manchin said.
