CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Today, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), a member of the Senate Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, announced $1,119,876.81 for the Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC). This funding, which is through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), will be used to reimburse costs accrued in response to the COVID-19 pandemic related to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and disinfecting.

“Like many of the hospitals across West Virginia, CAMC gave its doctors and nurses the resources they needed to safely take care of those who were sick during the peak of COVID-19. This funding will help reimburse for the PPE purchased for frontline health care professionals to operate safely during the public health crisis. I could not be more thankful for the selfless service of our health care professionals, and I am happy to secure the reimbursement they are due,” Senator Capito said.
