WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) recently joined a bipartisan resolution to designate September 2022 as National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. This resolution, which passed the Senate on Wednesday evening, recognizes the impact of cancer on the lives of children, urges stakeholders at every level of government to increase public awareness about the risks of cancer, and reminds Americans of the bravery of children who are diagnosed with and recover from cancer.
“Since my Childhood Cancer STAR Act became law, children battling cancer continue to see better outcomes thanks to more advanced research. I’m proud to join my colleagues once again in recognizing September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Together, we’re working towards a world without cancer,” Senator Capito said.
