CHARLESTON, W.Va. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), a member of the Senate Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, recently joined a group of 13 senate colleagues, led by U.S. Senator Rick Scott (R-Fla.), to introduce a resolution in the U.S. Senate denouncing the Biden administration’s open border policies. Since President Biden took office, there have been more than 9.2 million illegal border crossings.

This resolution was led in the U.S. House of Representatives by Rep. Monica De La Cruz (R-Texas-15) and passed with bipartisan support.

“Our border crisis continues to be a national tragedy,” Senator Capito said. “The situation requires urgent action from President Biden and a return to policies that deter mass illegal immigration and secure our nation’s border. President Biden has the authority and the tools available to address the crisis, and I urge him to act now or the long-term effects of the crisis will continue to be felt by Americans and West Virginians for years to come.”
