CHARLESTON, W.Va. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) today released the following statement in observance of Veterans Day:

“America remains the greatest country in the world because of the valor, courage, and bravery of those who have answered the call of duty. In West Virginia, we understand the magnitude of service to our nation, and we recognize the honor and respect our veterans are due when they return stateside. Today and every day, I am thankful for the service of the men and women of our armed forces, their families, and the sacrifices all have made on behalf of liberty and freedom—both at home and abroad. We owe our veterans an incredible amount of gratitude, and I encourage all of my fellow West Virginians to join me today in thanking them for their service.”

On Wednesday, Senator Capito visited with veterans at Bethlehem Elementary School’s “Dog Tags and Donuts” annual Veterans Day event.
