CHARLESTON, W.Va. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) today released the following statement ahead of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday:
“Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a fervent advocate for justice and equality, while always subscribing himself to principles of peace. Now more than ever, we must heed the example that Dr. King set for us, as we work towards a more unified country. We continue to honor the legacy of Dr. King through our thoughts and actions as we stand courageously in the face of prejudice, and work to preserve the American dream for everyone. I encourage all West Virginians to join me in celebrating Dr. King’s life, love, and integrity.”
