CHARLESTON, W.Va. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $304,521 from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to Cabin Creek Health Systems to purchase laptops, network software and equipment, security software, and a voice service platform to bolster their internet and voice services and create a more efficient, secure and stable connected care program for patients and providers.
“As we have seen over the past year, telehealth is an essential aspect in the future of health care, especially in rural communities like many here in West Virginia,” Senator Capito said. “This funding will go a long way in expanding access to specialized medical services like telehealth, which help our residents overcome so many barriers set by both travel restrictions and the COVID-19 pandemic. I look forward to the benefits this second round of funding from the FCC will create in communities across West Virginia.”
