WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), both members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced West Virginia will receive $357,143 for historic preservation grants through the National Park Service.

“West Virginians take great pride in our rich culture and heritage, which is why it’s important that we preserve it and maintain our traditions so that future generations can learn about and cherish them,” Senator Capito said. “I’m glad to see the National Park Service making these investments into our communities, and I will continue to advocate for the resources we need to keep our states history alive for years to come.”

“I am glad to see the National Park Service invest in West Virginia’s precious natural, historical and cultural sites. This welcome funding will provide financial assistance to our local communities so that they can continue to uphold the rich history and heritage West Virginia has come to be known for. As Chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, I’ll continue advocating for funding and resources to protect and preserve the Mountain State’s legacy for generations to come,” Senator Manchin said.
