WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $963,500 for West Virginia through the National Endowment for the Arts annual appropriations. This funding will support arts and music programs across the state and assist the West Virginia Division of Arts, Culture, and History with its statewide activities.
“Preserving West Virginia’s rich history, tradition, and culture is essential and so important because it’s what makes our state so unique and special. As our parents and grandparents did for us, it is critical that we preserve our heritage and pass it along to the next generation. I will continue to advocate for the necessary resources needed to support the dedicated artists, professionals, and volunteers who make West Virginia such a wonderful and special place,” Senator Capito said.
“West Virginia has a vibrant culture of arts and music, and our entire state is incredibly proud of the artists and musicians that play an important role in our communities across the state. I am thrilled the National Endowment for the Arts is investing in multiple programs that support our students and artists as they follow their passion and strengthen arts programs across West Virginia. I look forward to seeing the wonderful performances, programs and installations from our talented West Virginia artists.
