CHARLESTON, W.Va. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), both members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $3,901,348 for West Virginia through the U.S. Department of Labor’s Trade Adjustment Assistance for Workers Program. This funding will help the state of West Virginia provide training and employment services to eligible workers affected adversely by foreign trade.
“American jobs must always come first, and providing competitive work opportunities for our residents that drive economic development in our communities is a key priority,” Senator Capito said. “I’m pleased to see resources heading our way to help workers who have lost employment due to foreign trade. As our workforce and demands evolve, we must prioritize services like this that will help West Virginia strengthen our economy now and in the years to come.”
