WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), both members of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, today announced $691,740 in funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for Rainelle Medical Center, Inc. in Rainelle and Change, Inc. in Weirton.

“From primary and preventive care to substance abuse services, community health centers provide critical health care services to West Virginians,” Senator Capito said.  “This funding will help ensure that—regardless of where they live or their economic circumstances—West Virginians will continue to access these services, which will help them lead healthy, happy lives.  I will continue to fight for resources that improve health outcomes for West Virginians.”

“Our community health centers provide important access to primary and preventive healthcare to citizens all across the Mountain State. Every West Virginian deserves access to quality healthcare and ensuring our rural healthcare centers are well funded is an important aspect of that. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue to fight to ensure every clinic in West Virginia has the resources it needs,” Senator Manchin said.
