WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $1,087,281 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) to support maternal and child health services across West Virginia.
“In West Virginia, we know there is nothing more important than the health and security of our loved ones and family. Grants like this are important to supporting maternal and child health services for our families in West Virginia, regardless of their location. As a leader on the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue to advocate for the resources West Virginia’s mothers and children need and deserve,” Senator Capito said.
“Access to quality, affordable healthcare is vital to raising healthy children, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Senator Manchin said. “I am pleased HHS is investing in West Virginia to expand maternal and child health services across the Mountain State. Supporting West Virginia families is one of my top priorities, and I will continue to fight for funding to ensure every West Virginian has access to affordable healthcare.
