WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), both members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $11,406,902 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) health center cluster grant program. This funding will provide support and resources for health centers across West Virginia.
“Our health centers provide essential health care services that many West Virginians rely on—especially in our more rural communities. This funding will help maintain operations in our health centers so West Virginians can continue to access important medical services. As a leader on the Appropriations Committee, I will continue to advocate for support like this that will help our health centers access the resources needed to stay safe and prepared,” Senator Capito said.
“West Virginia’s health centers are the backbone of our healthcare system and have continued to provide quality care for West Virginians throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, despite operating on shoestring budgets. I am pleased HHS is continuing to invest in health centers across West Virginia to help provide essential healthcare services and ensure all West Virginians have access to quality, affordable healthcare.
