WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), Ranking Member of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), both members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced West Virginia’s allocations under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) FY22 Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). Collectively, West Virginia is eligible to receive $7,452,500 through the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP), Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP), and Emergency Operations Center Grant Program (EOCGP).

“As the top Republican on the Senate Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, I continue to advocate on behalf of the resources our state needs and relies on through DHS,” Ranking Member Capito said. “These funding opportunities will give our state and local leaders in West Virginia direct access to resources that bolster cybersecurity capabilities, combat extremism and online threats, and properly secure our state.”

“West Virginia must be prepared for any disaster or crisis that impacts our state. Comprehensive response plans and preparations are critical to ensuring the safety of our fellow West Virginians. I am pleased to announce these DHS funding opportunities to strengthen homeland security and emergency preparedness across the Mountain State. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue to advocate for resources to support our security programs and personnel as they work to keep West Virginians safe during any emergency that tests our state,” Senator Manchin said.

Individual allocations listed below:

  • State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) – $4,847,500
  • Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) – $1,650,000
