CHARLESTON, W.Va. – U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $18,000 for airports in Mason and Logan counties. This funding was made available through the Coronavirus Relief and Response Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act of 2020 and will help provide economic relief and combat the spread of COVID-19.

“Our airports faced major losses due to the lack of travel demand during the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s why I made it one of my priorities to provide resources to get our airports through the pandemic, while also helping them come out stronger on the other side. I’m encouraged to see this support heading to airports in Mason and Logan counties, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on these communities,” Senator Capito said.

“West Virginia airports play a critical role in our state’s economy by spurring economic development while also increasing tourism access. As a pilot myself, I know how important it is to keep airport facilities safe and clean, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. This funding will provide support for two of our airports in Mason and Logan counties. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue to advocate for funding to support airports in the Mountain State,” Senator Manchin said.

Individual awards listed below:

  • Mason County Airport – $9,000
  • Logan County Airport – $9,000
