CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Today, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) released the below statement on the passing of Tim Armstead, Justice of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia:
“Our hearts are broken to learn of the passing of our dear friend, Justice Tim Armstead. He was compassionate, gentle, strong, and a loyal leader—and above all, a devoted family man. Tim and I shared many wonderful moments over the years, and I will always treasure his friendship and the example he set. Tim’s years of service, from his time in the House of Delegates—including as Speaker—to his role on the Supreme Court of Appeals, reflected his deep commitment to our state and its people. Charlie and I extend our deepest sympathies to Anna, Katie, and the entire Armstead family during this incredibly sad time. Tim’s legacy of service, grace, integrity, and love for West Virginia will live on. Today, we mourn a true friend and a true servant of West Virginia,” Senator Capito said.
