WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va) today issued the following statement following the Toyota Motor Manufacturing, West Virginia (TMMWV) announcement: 

“In West Virginia, Toyota represents more than just good jobs. It’s a company committed to improving our economy and investing in our workforce. Today’s announcement further cements the strong community partnership Toyota has in our state. I’m excited to see how this new venture will continue to benefit our local communities and know West Virginia workers will be eager to fill the 123 new jobs coming to TMMWV.”  

Toyota today announced Toyota Motor Manufacturing, West Virginia in Buffalo will receive a $111,000,000 investment, including a building expansion and equipment to double capacity of hybrid transaxles from 120,000 units (Start of Production-2020) to 240,000 units annually in 2021. To meet the production demands, TMMWV will add 123 new jobs to its Buffalo facility. Overall, the plant represents a $1.4 billion investment.
