WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) today released the following statement regarding President Trump’s military action in Syria:
“I commend President Trump for taking swift and decisive action against the Assad regime for its appalling use of chemical weapons on Syrian civilians this week. I was deeply shaken by the terrible images of innocent men, women, and children suffering from such an inhumane attack. The use of chemical weapons on innocent people cannot be ignored, and I am encouraged to see that after years of indecisiveness and inaction from the previous administration, that President Trump has decided to stand up against Bashar al-Assad’s regime.”
