WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) today voted to pass a Congressional Review Act joint resolution of disapproval, which she co-sponsored, to overturn President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate on private businesses with more than 100 employees. Senator Capito released the below statement after tonight’s vote:

“I’ve heard from countless West Virginians who strongly oppose President Biden’s illegal vaccine mandate, and for good reason,” Senator Capito said. “Not only would this federal overreach jeopardize more than 300,000 jobs in our state, but it also robs individuals of their ability to make decisions for themselves. On behalf of all West Virginians, I was proud to join my colleagues today in blocking President Biden’s anti-freedom, anti-worker policy."

The Senate approved the measure by a vote of 52-48.
