WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), a leader on the Senate Appropriations Committee and a member of Senate Republican Leadership, issued the below statement after voting for a final package that includes three bipartisan, full-year appropriations bills— Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies; Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies; and Energy and Water Development.

“I am glad the Senate came together tonight to pass three more appropriations bills. This is an important step toward responsibly funding our government—and doing so through regular order. I was also glad that we were able to pass a package that is $2 billion less than current funding levels. These three bills will reduce Biden-era regulatory burdens, advance a tech-based economy, and protect American lives and livelihoods. These funding measures strengthen public safety by supporting federal, state, and local law enforcement to combat violent crime and gangs, dismantle cartels, and ensure communities and the federal judiciary are protected. As a leader on the Senate Appropriations Committee, I remain committed to supporting a process that brings stability, accountability, and certainty to communities across the country,” Senator Capito said.
