WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R- W.Va.), a leader on the Senate Appropriations Committee, voted to pass the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies; Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies; and Legislative Branch appropriations bills. Senator Capito also supported these bills as they moved through the Appropriations Committee process in recent weeks.

While the passage of these three bills is a critical step in the process toward funding our government for FY26, there are still several difficult steps in the budget process before this becomes law and before funds can be distributed.

“Senate passage of the first three funding bills is great news for our veterans and farmers, but also for our country as a whole. These bills support dozens of projects and priorities that I have requested in consultation with entities and organizations across West Virginia. Further action in the appropriations process is required, and we must use today’s momentum to continue our efforts and deliver for the American people,” Senator Capito said.
