WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), chairman of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, today welcomed $1,422,591 for the West Virginia Division of Highways through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Public Assistance program. Funding will help repair roads in Wetzel County that were damaged as a result of flooding in February 2018.

“West Virginians have always lifted ourselves and our neighbors up after natural disasters and worked to repair and rebuild our communities,” Senator Capito said. “As we continue to recover, funding like this goes a long way in helping to fix the infrastructure that West Virginians depend on to move across the state safely and efficiently. As chair of the Appropriations subcommittee that provides these funds, I will continue working to ensure West Virginia has the resources it needs to recover from flooding and other natural disasters.”
