WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) announced $17,179,733 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Resources (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF) for Head Start and Early Head Start programs across West Virginia. This funding will allow the programs to continue providing critical health, nutrition, education, and social services to West Virginia families and children.

“In West Virginia, we’ve always prioritized our commitments based on our values, and that includes strengthening our families and promoting early education for all children,” said Senator Manchin. “Our kids deserve the best chances at success, and investments in educational opportunities like Head Start lead our next generation to a brighter future. I’m pleased that this funding will help ensure our kids across our state receive the care, education and services they need to grow and excel.”

“Investing in the health and development of West Virginia’s children is so important to the well-being of our state. These Head Start grants will expand access to education and health care services, and go a long way toward preparing our kids to succeed,” said Senator Capito.
