FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) today traveled to Fayetteville, W.Va. to help celebrate the town’s 150th anniversary. To commemorate the milestone, Senator Capito joined local leaders and residents at the Fayette Courthouse where she delivered remarks.

“From the unique and bustling downtown, to our beautiful New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, Fayetteville in many ways tells the story of America. And it represents the best of West Virginia,”
Senator Capito said. “I was thrilled to join residents, leaders, business owners, and others today to celebrate this exciting milestone, and I’m grateful for all they do to promote this community and help tell the true and complete story of West Virginia.”

“The Town of Fayetteville was thrilled to have Senator Capito in attendance with us to celebrate Fayetteville’s sesquicentennial,”
Fayetteville Mayor Cruikshank said. “It is always an honor to welcome the senator to our corner of Almost Heaven West Virginia!”
