BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Today, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) traveled to Bridgeport, W.Va. where she participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony for the expansion of Aurora Flight Sciences at the Mid-Atlantic Aerospace Complex near the North Central West Virginia Airport. Aurora Flight Sciences, a Boeing Company, advances the future of flight by developing and applying innovations across the aerospace industry. This expansion will add nearly 50,000 square feet of space and grow their personnel by over 100 in the next five years. Aurora first opened in Bridgeport in 1999.

“Aurora Flight Sciences is once again showing their confidence in the West Virginia workforce with this investment and expansion. Our state has such a proud history of involvement in the aerospace industry, and today’s announcement will help continue that tradition. America’s position as the world leader in economic and military power depends on a robust aerospace industry, and by working together, we are making sure that our state remains a key contributor in that mission,” Senator Capito said

“Aurora first came to West Virginia nearly 30 years ago, and we are proud to continue growing and investing in this community,” Mike Caimona, President and CEO of Aurora Flight Sciences, said. “The people here are key to our businesses. The hard work of Aurora team members and the support from local partners made this expansion possible. Customers are choosing to grow their business with us and to bring exciting new programs to West Virginia.”
