CHARLESTON, W.Va. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) today issued the following statement regarding the Thanksgiving holiday:

“This Thanksgiving, as we give thanks for the many blessings we are fortunate to enjoy as Americans, I encourage all West Virginians to join me in remembering the men and women who are overseas defending our nation and keeping us safe. America is uniquely blessed with the greatest freedoms in the world, and the brave men and women who risk their lives to defend these freedoms deserve our deepest gratitude.

“As West Virginians, we are blessed to live in a state full of tightknit communities, where our strong and resilient people come together to help friends and neighbors in need. Charlie and I look forward to being with our children and grandchildren in Charleston on Thanksgiving Day and celebrating the community we are proud to call home. We would like to wish all West Virginians a happy Thanksgiving and blessed day with family and friends.”
