The Fourth of July is one of my most favorite times of the year.
We are lucky to be from a state as patriotic as West Virginia, where we have parades in communities across our state, backyard barbeques in our neighborhoods, and fireworks that light up the sky and our surrounding mountains.
As you celebrate Independence Day today, I encourage you to reflect on the ideals at the foundation of America.
That all men and women are created equal, and each and every one of us retains the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
I hope that you are able to spend today with friends, family, and your loved ones as we commemorate the 246th birth of the greatest country in the world.
