Bipartisan Environment Solutions

WASHINGTON, D.C.
– U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), a member of the Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee, today spoke on the Senate floor to highlight how Republicans are already working to deliver realistic and pragmatic environmental solutions, contrary to the misguided claims of Green New Deal supporters.

“As in so many policy arenas, the latest shiny object distracts from the great bipartisan work that is being done in these halls—work that sometimes just gets unnoticed. And that’s exactly what’s happening here,” Senator Capito said. “During the hard-nosed legislating and coalition-building to achieve these goals, it’s tough enough without all of the noise around a Green New Deal. But despite this distraction, I’m confident we can continue to notch wins in this arena. We have to because there’s simply too much riding on it—for our economy and for our environment.”
